Safety and Etiquette in Archery

When practicing archery, there are many rules you must follow, some are etiquette, some are for everyone's safety.

Etiquette on the range is very important for everyone to have fun and stay safe

Pay attention to what’s going on, especially when leaving or entering the shooting line.
Give other archers room to shoot, and never stand in anyone's way.
Put one foot behind the shooting line, one foot in front.
Keep your arrows pointed down the range.
Shoot as many arrows as the other shooters, so no one will need to wait for others to finish shooting before retrieving their arrows.
When you're done shooting, step away from the shooting line, place your bow on its stand and wait for the others.
When you're done shooting, be sure to keep quiet and allow others to concentrate.
Make sure everyone is finished shooting before walking downrange to retrieve your arrows.
Make sure not to pull arrows when someone is directly behind you.
If you need to find a lost arrow, be sure to limit the time you spend searching as to not make other Archers wait for too long.
Be supportive of fellow archers.

Safety rules are also very important to keep everyone safe while shooting.

Make sure your equipment is in good condition.
Don't run on the range.
Make sure to not let any young children unsupervised on the range.
Do not stand behind or in front of other archers.
Only shoot a bow with an arrow properly nocked. Shooting without an arrow nocked is called a dry fire.
Only take an arrow out of the quiver when you’re about to shoot.
Only aim the arrows down or towards the target.
Do not shoot towards the targets on other lanes.
Make sure you only shoot when your lane is clear.
Do not walk down the range unless everyone has stopped shooting.

By following these rules, everyone can have a safe and enjoyable time on the archery range.
